PLEASE TAKE OUR SURVEY
There's just THREE DAYS LEFT
to give us your IDEAS
AND FEEDBACK
on what the Soque River
Watershed Association
could ACCOMPLISH over
the next 5 years
As an incentive
One of every 5 entries
will win a free Chic Fil A sandwich
or
winners can choose a
BLACK RASPBERRY PLANT instead
Your feedback and ideas will be
utilized during our Strategic
Planning on Saturday March 7th which will set the
course for SRWA priorities over the next 5 years. So if your stuck in
the house with the snow over the next 24 hours, just imagine all the cool
things our community could do to protect and enjoy the Soque
River Watershed and other natural resources and share with us your
thoughts.
(CONGRATULATIONS to Dale Latty and Beth Goss, who's names
have been selected as winners)
2) Greenway Workday - Monday
3/2 or backup date Friday 3/6, (3 - 6PM)
There's a decent chance of RAIN
again this coming MONDAY, but we're going to shoot to begin
our GREENWAY Beautifcation WORKDAY anyway and if it RAINS we'll defer
to the following FRIDAY. The Workday consists of removal of some invasive
species (privet, ivy) and removal of some downed trees and limbs, to
prepare the way for planting some native species.
Here's
a glimpse of what this pretty trail looks like.
Should be even prettier
after a little tender loving care.
All the
details are the same:
WHAT
WE HAVE:
- 10 loppers for cutting anything
3 inches and smaller
- 1 wheelbarrow for moving cut
debris (though most will be moved by hand)
WHAT
YOU CAN BRING:
- Work Gloves Recommended
- Your own loppers if you have
'em!
- A couple of chainsaws for
anything bigger than 4 inches
- Fun and enthusiasm for this
awesome new resource.
We
hope you can join us for a good day and a good way to celebrate this nice
piece of land! Send us a quick e-mail to soque@windstream.net. And
thanks for helping us BEAUTIFY this terrific new outdoor recreation resource.
